Revamping Raven Bank: A User-Centric Approach to Mobile Banking

Introduction: In the rapidly evolving world of mobile banking, providing customers with a seamless and efficient experience is paramount. The Product Design Charlie-Delta Clan, also known as Team 1, took on the challenge of improving the user experience of the Raven Bank App. Our mission was clear: conduct thorough user research, redesign the app for enhanced usability, and add a new feature while removing redundant functionalities. This case study delves into our journey and the impact of our user-centric approach.

User Research: Our journey began with extensive user research aimed at understanding the pain points and preferences of Raven Bank App users. A recurring complaint from users was the absence of a 'Loan facility' feature. Armed with this valuable insight, we set out to make the Raven Bank App more customer-centric.

Redesigning the App: Each member of our team contributed to the app's redesign, focusing on creating a visually appealing and user-friendly interface. We unanimously chose 'Poppins' as the new font to enhance readability. Our colour palette, consisting of 2347C6 (Blue), D7930F (Orange), and 78C0AB (Green), was carefully selected to resonate with the brand identity while ensuring accessibility.

Challenges: While the journey was rewarding, we did face challenges along the way. Our team encountered difficulties with the product design tool, Figma, which temporarily delayed task assignments and submissions. Additionally, collating and organizing tasks posed another challenge. However, our determination to create a superior app experience kept us focused.

New Feature Added: Based on user feedback, we introduced a game-changing feature: 'LOAN.' This addition enables eligible customers to apply for loans seamlessly through the app, aligning Raven Bank with the evolving needs of its users. This feature not only enhances the app's functionality but also empowers users financially.

Old Feature Removed: To streamline the app's usability, we identified redundancy in the form of two similar features: 'Add money' and 'Savings.' After careful consideration, we decided to remove the 'Savings' feature. This step simplifies the app's navigation and ensures a more intuitive user experience.

Conclusion: In conclusion, the Product Design Charlie-Delta Clan embarked on a journey to transform the Raven Bank App into a user-centric powerhouse. By listening to user feedback, redesigning the app for aesthetics and functionality, and adding the 'LOAN' feature while removing the redundant 'Savings' feature, we've taken Raven Bank to the next level of mobile banking excellence. Our approach showcases the importance of aligning digital products with user needs and preferences, and we believe these changes will make Raven Bank App a top choice for mobile banking in Nigeria.
